I can’t believe we are at the end of our first full week at school! The students have been working hard learning our classroom routines and procedures, getting to know each other and having fun!
We have begun our Writers and Readers Workshop and have worked hard using our math skills to solve word problems. Ask your child what good readers do. Hopefully they will tell you that good readers: take a sneak peek (take a book walk and make predictions), check their sneak peek (read to see if their predictions are correct) and do something at the end of the book (reread a favorite page, or retell what happened at the beginning, middle, and end of their book).
The classroom blog will be used to keep you informed on what is happening in the classroom. This is where I will post updates on what we are working on in class, suggestions for home learning and other nuts and bolt. You will also find the monthly calendar under the Class Calendar tab, the specialist schedule under the Class Schedule tab and a variety of apps and websites that you can use at home under the Home Learning tab. My suggestion is to “Follow” the blog in order to receive updates about new posts. You should see a Follow button on the bottom left hand side of your screen.
We have an amazing class this year, which I know is because of YOU! Thank you for everything you do! Please do not hesitate to contact me at email@example.com if you have any questions or concerns.
Ms. Purdy 🙂
